- Segre, Joshua ben Zion
- (c.1705-c.1797)Italian dayyan and rabbi. He was born in Casale Monferrato. He was engaged as a children's tutor in Scandiano, but pretended to be a fully qualified rabbi, claiming to have graduated from the Mantua yeshivah; this led to a dispute with the rabbis under whose authority he worked. His Asham Talui is a polemic against Christianity.
